Ready for our How-to-Host-a-Murder party the Saturday before Halloween. Me: a Greatful Dead groupie and yoga instructor, half-sister of the deceased. My friend Kami had the bell bottoms and all the right accessories, and she got me all dressed up.

Blaine: a professional croquet player and old, rich widow boytoy, who taught the deceased all she knew about using her assets to gain more assets. Thank heavens for his brother Josh, who dressed him head to toe, clothing and $bling$ and everything. :) We had a total ball.

And on Halloween night, just before trick or treating. Emma is Hermione Granger, Christian is farmer Young MacDonald, Libby is a caped superhero, Jackson is a monkey. Ethan, who had to wear a pumpkin costume to the homeschool party, has finally become the skeleton he always knew was inside him. (Minus patellas, I lost those before I sewed them on.)
And my little rhinoceros, Macklin – the fourth in a line of rhinos to wear the costume – standing on the kitchen table as always.
