Weird dream last night

I still have dreams in which I'm walking into an educational institution and I
-don't know my class schedule
-have a final I haven't studied for or attended any classes for
-can't remember my locker combination
-etc.
I don't have them all the time, but they do crop up now and then.

Just before I woke up, in my dream I was walking into my high school (and I was walking between Matt Bellamy and Chris Wolstenholme holding their hands—I didn't remember that part until I just started writing about it—and NOW I WANT THE DREAM BACK) and I didn't know where my locker was, the combination, or where I should go for class. I recognized a lot of the teachers—my old math teacher from jr. high seems to crop up a lot, as does the actual location where her classroom was—and I stood there for a moment. I remembered my own real school activities and things I did and enjoyed, as well as one can do that sort of thing in a dream. I had some good times. But I mentally processed that now I look like one of the teachers, not one of the students. And I turned around and walked back out again.

Weird.

Does that sound like my unconscious brain trying to process the real world? Fingers crossed I've finally had my last school dream.

Shopping at home while the family goes to the mall :)

B just took 6 out of 7 children and drove to the mall to look at iPod covers. So it's just me and Christian kicking it here—all is silent. I'm not even sure what to do with myself!

I've been Etsy shopping today. I'm a WNTW/Stacy and Clinton devotee and I am slowly going to revamp my wardrobe (the work has already begun, a bit). I had a revelation around Christmas time. Most basics—shoes, coats/jackets, trousers, purses—I own in two colors, brown and black. Because I can't carry a brown purse with the black shoes, obvs. And I wanted/needed a new warm winter coat for Christmas, and all I could think was eventually I'd need two, one in brown and one in black. And then when B and I were shopping, I realized HEY THERE ARE OTHER COLORS THAT GO WITH BOTH. And I bought a white coat.

Risky! Mom of seven in a white down coat. But oh so cute, and oh so toasty even right now when the temps are below zero. I am just thrilled with my purchase.

And that revelation trickled down into other things. Both my brown and black purses (identical, BTW, except for color) were worn out, so on Saturday I bought a purple purse.

Purple is absolutely risk-free for me. I never wear it at all, so it will never clash with my clothes. It will just be its own little pop of color. And no more trading stuff back and forth, back and forth, depending on what I'm wearing! *glee*

And I love the way that Stacy and Clinton put jewelry with outfits—it doesn't match, but it goes. I started looking at and evaluating my clothing, everything I already have and the direction I'm likely to go from here, and I picked some jewelry colors which (sort of like the purple purse) will never fight with a color I'm wearing because I don't wear those colors at all, but will be a lovely little accent. A few weeks ago when I went to SLC for my sisters-and-nieces book club, I stopped into the Nordstrom Rack to shop. I was looking for a chunky bracelet. I found this:

It was seriously love at first sight. And oh-so-perfect for my color palate, because I never wear turquoise or green at all. It can pop my browns, my blacks, my pinks, my whites.

Today on Etsy, I purchased these earrings...

...for the same reason. They should never clash with what I'm wearing. I don't know if I'll ever wear them with the turquoise bracelet, but if I do I love that they're not matchy-matchy but they should still go.

But even though I don't wear greens or turquoise, I do wear blue. And I need a different color to pop when I'm wearing blue. And I adore pink, so pink will be my popper. Thus, I also bought this on Etsy:

There were a lot of pink bracelets, but this is the one that spoke to me. :) I can't wait until it comes! And now my Christmas money is all spent. :)
