Sometimes when we drag the kids out of bed at 6:30 for scripture study, their brains/mouths just aren't functional yet. This morning most of us had made it from bed to bathroom to sofa, but we were still waiting for a couple of stragglers. Ethan mentioned that he was "sweepy", mispronouncing it intentionally. He was bushy-tailed and mischievous. It led to a discussion about needing a broom, and then Blaine said he was sweet pea.
Libby was still only working on halfsies, but Ethan was all there. She was trying to add on about sweet pea when he hijacked her comment without a beat, and gave us our first belly laugh of the day.
Libby: "Actually, sweet pea and violet is..."
Ethan: "...the Roman name for Libby!" Kid had perfect comedic timing on this one, with a little sing-song tune and swinging dancey arms. I'm still cracking up about it.

Its a good thing you had kiddies to entertain you. 6:30 in the AM comes dreadfully early sometimes.
